# 2-2 dosen't equal 0 ## 2-2 dosen't equal 0

We were all taught that 4-4=0, and it seems logical. But when you get into the higher levels of math, speciflcly exponents, your teachers will tell you that anything to the 0 power equals 1, and that everything is to the first power unless it was signaled otherwise. So 4-4 is 4 to the first power minus 4 to first power. to subtract exponent with the same base, you minus the power so thats 4( 1-1) and thats 4 to the zero power, and anything to the zero power is 1. So thats why 2-2, 4-4,etc., equals 1, not zero

P.S. I was to much of noob to figure out how to the little numbers in the exponent( the Power)

awsomeness

## Re: 2-2 dosen't equal 0

I disagree with this! ur mom equals 0

## Re: 2-2 dosen't equal 0

You can only subtract exponents when you divide. 4x2 - 2x2 = 2x2

So this theory is fail.
